This is my first time using unRAID, so I have a few questions about a server I am building:

[*]I plan on using the free unRAID version, confirm my setup works with 2 drives (1 parity, 1 data).  Once I need 4+ drives, I will register for a license.  Are there any issues upgrading to a licensed version from free?

[*]My main intention is to use unRAID as a Plex media server.  Any big known issues with Plex on unRAID?

[*]I just ordered two new 2TB drives (1 parity, 1 for data); do I need to run preclear_disk.sh on both?  Is there an actual benefit? (I read the preclear page, but didn't see any description of benefits)

Thanks for answering my questions!

1. None.

2.Please check in the User Customization forum for latest info.

3. pre-clear is highly recommended. It preforms a "burn-in" that causes marginal disks to fail. Up to 20% of new disks are returned due to failing this test. It has the additional benefit of zeroing the entire surface and writing the unRAID all-clear signature. The signature allows new drives to expand an existing array without the extensive downtime that is required when unRAID clears the disk itself.
