Split level always goes back to 0

I am using 4.2.1 Pro.

 

I have 2 shares and am using high water for allocation.  When I set my split level and hit apply it goes back to 0.  Tried setting the level to 9, 6, 999 always goes right back to 0 after hitting apply.  Any ideas.

Mine used to do that when it had been a long time since I rebooted my server. If I reboot then I had no problem setting the split level. You might try that. Rebooting that is.

Never set split to 999 whatever you do.

...and they say a reboot fixes only MS Windows?
