May 16May 16 I have 2 severs and tried to upgrade both today. the 1st went fine with no issues. When trying on the second it fails with this error. Additionally, I tried upgrading to 7.2.6 and tried updating the Community Apps and Unraid Connect, both fail. Looking at my notifications I see a couple that show the Flash drive is write protected but it appears to be read/write when I look at the permissions.plugin: installing: unRAIDServer.plg Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks plugin: downloading: unRAIDServer.plg ... done Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks *** *** Please update the Unraid Connect plugin before upgrading Unraid! *** plugin: run failed: '/bin/bash' returned 1 Executing hook script: post_plugin_checksplugin: updating: dynamix.unraid.net.plg Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks plugin: downloading: dynamix.unraid.net-4.34.0-x86_64-1.txz ... plugin: dynamix.unraid.net-4.34.0-x86_64-1.txz download failure: Generic error Executing hook script: post_plugin_checks crimson-diagnostics-20260516-1250.zip
May 16May 16 Community Expert Please see my post here, might be related, 7.3.0 is picky about how the USB drive is formatted: [DIAGNOSED + WORKAROUND] 7.3.0: emhttpd ENOFLASH4 — flash rejected, GUID = (null) on legacy whole-device FAT (superfloppy) USBs - General Support - UnraidI also had this issue with NGINX error after upgrading from 7.2.6 to 7.3.0 (worked perfectly fine since 2017 up to 2 days ago when upgraded to 7.3.0)
May 17May 17 Community Expert Solution The flash drive is read-only:May 16 12:22:40 Crimson emhttpd: error: update_pool_cfg, 371: Read-only file system (30): fopen_pool_write: cache Read-only file systemBackup the current one, recreate it using the USB tool, then restore only the config folder if it happens again, replace the flash drive.
May 17May 17 Author Thanks JorgeB, that was the issue, my USB has been in there for years and I guess I reached the write limit and could not re-enable write so I replace the drive and I am back up and running.
