Unraid 7.3: How to SMB Share the Root Directory of a Pool?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded my Unraid to version 7.3 and completely ditched the traditional Array. I've configured all my drives as independent Pools. For example, I created a pool named system.

In the old Array setup, I could easily share /mnt/disk1 via SMB. But now I'm unable to share a pool's root directory (like /mnt/system) in the same way.

I've tried creating a User Share with the same name as the pool (e.g., system), but the system warns me: "Please do not use the name of a pool."
I also checked the Disk Shares option, but none of my pools show up there either.

So my question is: under Unraid 7.3's all-pool architecture, what is the official recommended method to safely and conveniently share the root directory of a pool via SMB?

Thank you very much!

You can still share the pools using disk shares (if enabled)
