New hardware: Recover Shares

Featured Replies

I was using a minipc connected to a USB DAS and decided to change to a 4U server with an X570 and 5950x because two of the drives kept going offline overnight. I knew it would be hit or miss but took a chance anyways.

But my question is how do I reconnect my shares? I got a new HBA today because the raid card I was using simply wouldn't pass through the drives even though there is a driver in unraid for it and I could see the individual drives in linux Mint but they wouldn't show up with lsblk in the terminal.

Now all of the drives are showing up in unassigned drives (4x10TB drives) and an extra 4x4TB drives are showing up but it doesn't know how to handle them and this is the point where I ask for help so I don't make a mistake. I'm thinking of booting it back up without the 4TB drives to simplify thing's because some of them may have been used in an old truenas or unraid config, really can't remember. Everything on the HDD's is backed up in cold storage but I really don't want to go through the hassle of copying it back over.

What is best practice and what info do you need from me?

Thank you

*I'm now realizing that I just need to figure out which drive is the parity
