How do I revert to flash drive boot from internal boot?

Featured Replies

Hello! This morning I installed the 7.3.1 update and set up dual internal boot drives that were previously my cache drives. I might have missed it or I was going too fast, but when I completed the change, the drives were just 1 TB boot drives and were not partitioned. I want to set up partitioned drives so I can still use these drives as my cache drives. However, I can't figure out how to change it now that the internal boot is already completed. What steps do I take to revert back, and set up the drives with partitions? Thank you in advance!

Thank you for your quick reply! Forgive my ignorance but when I do that command shown, this is what I get. I cannot seem to book from the USB drive anymore. It is in the unassigned drives, but I'm unable to do anything with it

mount: /x: special device /dev/sdX1 does not exist.

dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.

Did you replace ‘X’ with the correct letter for your system?

This is probably a dumb question but I want to make sure I get it right. How do I know which letter to put? Is it the device name? ie sdb?

Look on Main for the flash drive identifier; it should show in the unassigned devices section.
