xfs Array Drive: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

today when I started my NAS i got an "UDMA CRC error count" message on one of my drives. I checked and switched the SATA cables, yet the drive is still disabled.

After some restarts I noticed that the drive is listed as "unmountable: Unsupported or no file system".

The log shows the following error:

Jun 5 13:43:48 UnrSrv root: mount: /mnt/disk6: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/md6p1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.
Jun 5 13:43:48 UnrSrv root: dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.
Jun 5 13:43:48 UnrSrv emhttpd: shcmd (51): exit status: 32
Jun 5 13:43:48 UnrSrv emhttpd: /mnt/disk6 mount error: Unsupported or no file system

Before I start doing anything crazy, I wanted to get some feedback on how should I continue?

Many thanks!

Tomson

First thing is to check filesystem on the emulated disk6, and make sure you don't rebuild it on top of the old disk for now

Thanks!

I suspected it was necessary to continue in the console, but that seems easier than expected.

I ran the check 2 in maintenance-mode times.

First check with the preselected option -n

Second check without any option (See attachments)

Now I am able to access the data on the drive again, however the drive is still disabled.

My next step would be to enable this drive again.

Now I'm running an extended self-test (that will take a while on this 14TB drive...)

Are these the correct steps?

Start the array in normal (not maintenance) mode with nothing assigned as disk6 then post diagnostics

Looks good, no errors during the rebuild.

P.S. Recommend updating Unraid, 6.12 is very old now.
