Cannot access my files on RC4

Featured Replies

hi,

my unraid server worked just fine until a few days ago. suddenly the array didn't start up anymore. since i was messing around with a few plugins i thought that i "broke" my unraid and so decided to set the whole thing up new and fresh.

i deleted all files on my usb drive, downloaded the new release and brought the array back in order. so far everything worked fine.

but now i cannot access any of my files. not over my mac, ipad or xbmc machine. i normally access them as root without a password. won't work anymore. then i tried to set a pw. won't work. then i tried to add a new user. worked for about 5 minutes but i coukd only read the files and it only worked on the ipad.

i now installed the whole thing new again and added only the parity and two drives. but still nothing.. ; (

so..what did i do wrong? thanks so much for your help : )

You can NOT use the 'root' user to access the Samba shares at all. Setup a user and use that instead. You will also need to run the "new permissions" script as well.
