Hi first time posting for help. so i have my setup on latest 7.3.1. i managed to get a nice setup going. game servers. plex. few other dockers. i was messing around with tailscale and got that working till where i could login on my phone. i started with u-connect app that asked for an api key. did that remote and that app was working. seemed cool. then i foundout unraid had a native app! installed that and went to remove the other app and api key. well.... my dumb dumb did something to where it reset .... idk my profile? or config file? not sure./ all i can say is it looked like default config. dockers, shares, all data was still there. plex loaded up fine but then i noticed my games were not starting (AMP) servers. i had it to refress the key automaticly and that was broken. then i noticed i couldnt eddit any of my dockets. all plugins are gone. kinda nerves i really messed something up with the app. something about GUI defulting to phone settings? but then i went down the AI rabbit whole with gemini... any help would be appreciated. not sure where to start... atleast my data is save :)

Diags still show plugins being installed, can you confirm what you mean by plugins gone? Don't they not show in the plugins page?

Probably a misunderstanding about the difference between dockers and plugins.

Docker containers we're all still there and functioning however I could not edit them. The option was completely gone. All plugins were removed and dashboard reverted to default. Also the server name changed on tail scale and IP changed. A lot of things broke but I managed to get most of it up and running again. Back to the Dockers they weren't even showing up in previously installed so I had to one by one to redo all of them. Right now I'm more interested in figuring out what I did that caused this. It has something to do with either unrate connect or the third party manager app I installed on my phone and was trying to control the server through tail scale for the first time. I feel like this was some sort of security system that got triggered

One piece of advice. Always have a backup of your flash device that is current. You can easily do this by open the MAIN tab of the GUI, click on the 'Boot' device under the Boot Device section, then click on the BOOT DEVICE BACKUP button.

It seems that the quality of USB flash drives has dropped dramatically in the past few years. This has resulted in failures during the upgrade process because of write failures to those drives. Many folks are shifting to using one of the other boot options but understand that they also can have have their own issues. So do your own investigation before making a change and chose the best option for you.

The webUI and Previous Apps relies on templates for your containers, and those are saved on flash. If you have flash problems that make these templates unavailable, the webUI and Previous Apps has nothing to work with.

Installed plugins are also on flash, along with all settings from the webUI, such as your drive assignments. Server name reverting to default "tower" is often a sign of flash problems.

Internal boot from a partition on one of your storage pools instead of flash drive is also an option in Unraid 7.3 and above. In that case, your templates and other settings would be kept on that boot partition. Still a good idea to have a current backup of course.

Im on 7.3.1 no USB. Ai kept saying the same thing...I believe I made a back up but I couldn't find it.... I have added a few back up systems now.

I have definitely learned my lesson on keeping backups. I now have three backups of fully automated daily setup. I could have sworn I set this up in the beginning but I cannot for the life of me remember how or what system I went with. At this point it still would be nice to figure out why this happened so that it can't be prevented.
