Keep array security key on usb for internal boot

Featured Replies

I would like to have the security key on a separate USB (or better multiple USBs) while also booting from an internal drive.

For security, is there a way to configure unraid to look for the key on USB instead of on the internal drive when it boots then be able to remove the key?

Not quite sure what you mean? If you are talking about the encryption key then Unraid has no built-in location for it regardless of whether internal boot is being used or not.

That is a plugin so any questions regarding it should be asked in the plugins support thread.

He was not asking about the plugin, he was looking for a solution, and I am pointing out that this plugin is probably what he wants.

Ok.

I interpreted the original question from OP as implying he thought that Unraid had a standard location for the encryption key which is not the case. Historically one has added something to the config/go file that got the encryption key from somewhere.
