5b14 crashing randomly

Featured Replies

ok strangeness, has started occuring. I have two servers sitting side by side, one is on 4.7, the other 5b14.. the 4.7 has been up solid for almost 80 days without being restarted, the other... it HAS been rock solid.. till the past couple weeks... it's been randomly crashing, restarting and doing a parity check. No rhyme or reason I can determine, just a hard crash and restart... I have noticed the drive temperatures have been increasing as the outside temp has gone up (I'm in El Paso. It's Hot.) they are topping out at 40c. I've also noticed that the drives seem to never spin down. Same case, same power supply (different boards, memory, cpu) but as I said, it's been solid as a rock till lately. Oh, the 4.7 is full of Hitachi's.. the 5b14 is Western Digitals.... other than that, I get this at the head of the syslog

Jun 21 14:58:32 PINEWOOD syslogd 1.4.1: restart.

Jun 21 14:58:32 PINEWOOD kernel: klogd 1.4.1, log source = /proc/kmsg started.

and it starts a parity check, which completes clean

suggestions?
