Monday at 05:17 PM5 days For a while I have been having inconsistent shutdowns of my unraid server. I have something holding up my server so it isn't having a clean shutdown. I have now implemented a 300 second's for clean shutdown, while before it was at the default 90 seconds.Even had unclean shutdowns with the array fully stopped, so not sure what has been happening. These are the two latest diagnostics. All help is greatly appreciated! unradical-diagnostics-20260629-0938.zipunradical-diagnostics-20260629-0919.zip
Monday at 06:18 PM5 days syslogs indicate problems communicating with disks 1,2. Maybe it couldn't sync during shutdown.Any power splitters?
Monday at 06:22 PM5 days Author What is a power splitter? No I didn't force a shutdown with the front buttons, didn't have a power outage or anything.Someone on discord was suggesting that it those two disks are failing but I have run relatively recently SMART tests. I am going to run again after my latest parity check.
Monday at 06:25 PM5 days SMART reports looked OK for those. All disks on same controller. How are these 2 disks connected to power?
Monday at 06:27 PM5 days Author I am on an Jonsbo N5, so its a back plane. Not sure if they are on the same backplane, or separate back plane. There are definitely other drives on the back planes with them.https://www.jonsbo.com/en/products/N5Black.html
Monday at 06:28 PM5 days Most recent syslog in those diagnostics didn't show those problems. Did you reseat the drives?
Monday at 06:30 PM5 days Author Nope, nothing physical has been touched in that case for several months. I have several other diag files. The reboot unclean shutdowns have been inconsistent, but happen "often" should I grab others?
Monday at 06:42 PM5 days Setup syslog server. There is a "sticky" thread pinned near the top of this General Support subforum about unclean shutdowns. Here is a post I made to that thread explaining how Unraid decides if a shutdown has been unclean:
