After Shutdown Unraid Won’t Boot

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am having a weird issue. I’m on a newer version where I can move my boot to internal. Anyways, if I shutdown, I try to start the computer it just goes to a blank screen with no post. If I remove the usb and let it boot into bios. Then plug the sub back in and restart it. It will then post and boot. I have uploaded my syslog files and diagnostics. Can someone help me please.

That looks like a BIOS issue, the problem happens before loading Unraid.

Having the same issue. Re-arranging the Boot Order in BIOS hasn't resolved the blank screen upon reboot

So it's not the same issue; I recommend starting your own thread to avoid confusion. Also, please post there the basic hardware you are using.

Thank you for the reply. Where did you see that in the logs?

If it doesn't post, it won't be in the logs, it's also not an Unraid issue.

So not sure where to go from here. I didnt have this issue before upgrading to the newer OS of Unraid. I did have an issue where my unraid would freeze and then have to restart it. I removed a stick of 16gb ram and hasn't freezed yet but then still dealing with this.

  1. Make sure Fastboot is disabled

  2. Check boot drive order in the BIOS to make sure it's booting off the correct device

  3. See if there is a BIOS update

It cant be related to updating the OS if the OS doesnt even load which it sounds like it's not.

I will check fastboot. I know there is a bios update. I have downloaded that and will update that when I get home tonight.

There will be no logs anywhere that shows what is going on when I turn on the computer and there is no post?
