Using ipad browser to go to unraid

Featured Replies

When i try to use the stock browser on my ipad3 to go to "//unraid" it gives me an error.

Is there any workaround for it?

Doing this on pc/laptop (internet explorer) gives me no problems.

I enter http://unraid and it works. I have unraid in my local DNS though, so YMMV.

YMMV?

mine says:

Opening page not possible:

Safari cant open the page: server not found

But when i do this with the laptop, wireless, theres no problem

The laptop is using SMB to find the server. The iPad only has DNS. If you have a router with DD-WRT you can add the server names to the local DNS.

Have you tried connecting via IP address? On my HP Touchpad running Android, I can't get it to resolve my local URL, but it will connect via its IP.

iPad and iphone can connect when the unRAID IP address is used.

I usually power down the server with my iPad or iPhone.

If you're jailbroken you can add a static entry into /etc/hosts on your iPad which would let you reference your UnRAID by name.

and for the record, YMMV:

Y = Your

M = Mileage

M = May

V = Vary

My helpful post of the month. ;)
