Server Rebooting

Featured Replies

About two months ago my server did it's every couple months parity check. During that parity check it rebooted all of sudden, which it had never done before. When it came back online I canceled the partity check and everything seemed fine. This morning I noticed that the server was doing a parity check and saw that it had rebooted. It started a parity check and after about 10 minutes rebooted. I stopped the parity check after it came up but after 10 minutes it reboots. This even after stopping the parity check. I am able to login for about 10 minutes before it reboots. I have the server off/shutdown right now.

My first though is that it is a bad power supply but before I look at replacing thought I would ask here.

Any help is much appreciated.

bad power supply

This would me my guess as well. When power supplies start to fail, it is first noticed when the PC is under load. I have had a couple of power supplies fail (never on an Unraid server, fortunately) and, in both cases, heavy graphics load would cause the PC to reboot. I suspect this is what is causing your problem.

Thanks. That is what I was thinking. Anything else I should check. It was chugging along before this.
