June 24, 201214 yr That sucks. This whole merging of the hdd makers really has thrown a monkey wrench into things, so far as consumers are concerned. If I send a Hitachi drive in a would MUCH prefer to get a hitachi drive back!
June 25, 201214 yr What will WDC do when I RMA a 7200 rpm 3TB Hitachi? The whole point was to get rid of WDs after all in my unraid server.
July 3, 201214 yr Not a big surprize. The more sad thing is the apparent demise of the Hitachi drive hardware. After all, why would WD want to keep building what was generally recognized as the most reliable HDD lines currently being made??
