Good day, my Unraid server has been offline for a number of years but I recently got it up and running again and upgraded to version 7.2.7. Before I did the OS update the server and shares appeared exactly as I left it. After the upgrade all my shares returned expect for my main Media share where 90% of my files are stored across multiple drives. I reviewed some recent forums posts and saw this is a popular issue and there is a way to resolve it. I believe I have to either remove a file or rename a file but before I do that I just want confirmation and some instructions.

I reviewed the .cfg files and there appears to be (2) cfg files for this particular share. one in is caps MEDIA, and the other is lower case, media. All the working shares are in Caps. For some reason the SMB share MEDIA primary storage is set to cache and it wont allow me to change it to array like I can with the other working shares.

When I look directly into the user/share/media i can see the location of the data is spread across multiple drives just like it was when it was working before the OS upgrade. I really hope none of the files are corrupt or deleted.

Can anyone walk me through how to correct this. I am somewhat familiar with Unraid but I am more of a newbie than a novice. I have a couple screen shots and the diagnostic file I will share.

You need to look into the config/shares folder on the flash drive and make sure the .cfg file for each share is in the same case as the actual folders for the share on your disks. If not delete the .cfg file and then go into the settings for the share and make any change to cause a new .cfg file to be generated with the correct case.

Thank you for the reply. the lower case media share does not and should not have and data where as the MEDIA share in caps contains a boat load a data files. Are you just saying I must just delete the media.cfg file on the flash disk while leaving the MEDIA.cfg file should do the trick or must I delete both files for this to work.

I looked into the config/shares folder on the flash drive and it only has one share called Media.cfg strange enough it is not in lower case with the first letter in capital. It is spelled Media.cfg. where as all other shares are in all caps. When I looked at the diagnostic file it shows two different shares for my media content. one spelled MEDIA.cfg and one spelled Media.cfg

I seem to have fixed this by renaming the share as you suggested. Thanks for your assitance
