I recently added a download cache to try to keep everything running faster. I have alot of unprotected shares, and I was hoping you guys could tell me what I need to change to have these set up correctly.

Unprotected means you don't have disk redundancy in your pool (single disk vs mirror/RAID)

For array shares this shows you have a parity disk or two but for pool shares (or files on a pool) that pool is a single disk pool.

I mean, personally I would have combined the two disks into a single pool so they were mirrored and just run a more aggressive mover schedule. (it's what I already personally do)

It should change to 'Protected' as soon as Mover finishes running. Mover can be setup to run on a schedule (I have mine set to run daily at 0340 which is the middle of the night for me.). Settings >>> User Preferences >>> Scheduler >>> Mover Settings

One caution. Mover will not overwrite a file!

I was seeing Dockers slowing down durring large downloads. I gave Download its own drive and now everything is super fast. Also Download-Cache is MSATA and Cache is NVME. I don't want the NVME slowed down.

Also the mover rand at 0300, so this morning should have been protected. Thats why I am asking. I feel like I missed something in my settings.

My mover runs at 0300. it should have been clean this morning.

Use the built-in File Manager and look at the cache. See what files remain there.

Then go to the Shares tab and use the file manager again to see what the location is for the files that you found while looking at the cache. If that is showing two locations, that is the problem.

It could just be an empty folder existing part of the share. you would have to browse the contents of the specific pool to see what is triggering the message. Even just the share folder itself. In that case you can just ignore the message.
