Jake is starting with us as a Jr. Software engineer and will be working on Unraid OS - here's what he has to say about himself: I’m a software engineer, homelab enthusiast, and serial tinkerer with a habit of turning “I wonder if I could…” into projects that somehow consume an entire weekend. I love self-hosting, open source, AI, 3D printing, and making computers do things they probably weren’t intended to do. I’m happiest when I’m building something new, figuring out how something works, or coming up with a wildly over-engineered solution to a problem that probably had a perfectly reasonable answer already.More importantly, I’m the proud dad of my awesome 5-year-old daughter, Charlie, and human sidekick to my ridiculously cute doggo, Wilson. They keep life interesting when I finally manage to step away from the keyboard.Outside of code, I’m a live music and festival junkie, 3D printing nerd, and firm believer that some of the best food on the planet comes through the window of a food truck. I love discovering new music, getting lost in a festival crowd, finding incredible food in unexpected places, and printing random things because owning a 3D printer has apparently convinced me that everything in life needs a custom plastic solution.Basically, give me good people, loud music, great food, something to build, and a problem I can make unnecessarily complicated, and I’m pretty happy.
