Where and how was the graph generated? What is the time scale?

Was screenshot captured during the transfer of a single file?

Where the source and destination on the same switch? What was the switch manufacturer and model? (Remember, high speed transfers require much more resources from all the network components in the link.)

Is it repeatable?

Are you looking for an answer (In that case, what is the question?) or just making an observation on your finding?

Mostly wanted to document it, and if I end up finding a solution I will put it here. Its a non-issue for the most part, I just found the behaviour peculiar.

Graph is from a windows machine, showing network transfer throughput between Mellanox ConnectX 4 LX cards with a 25gb link on copper. The image I posted above is 60 seconds of throughput.

Transferring a single file.

No switch in the system, the connectx4 in the unraid machine is bridged to the LAN, and the windows machine connects to the internet through the 25gb link.

Yes it is repeatable, but I have not tested with a synthetic load. Immich is the largest load this server sees, to the extent that the webui is glacially slow when it is performing jobs.
