Gigabyte MoBo's and WOL

Featured Replies

Is any one successfully using a Gigabyte MoBo with unraid and having WOL properly working.

I am running unRaid 5.0rc4 on a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H. Stable and fast. I can put it to sleep with no issues. It will accept a WOL but NOT come out of sleep (S3) properly.  The console is dead, the monitor appears off, however the NIC lights are flashing.  Same condition is true if I touch a key to bring it out of sleep.

Gigabyte is not much help.  They disavow themselves of Linux based systems as "There is too much variance" and want me to verify the system by booting up Windows, which I could do as there is an internal HDD in the case that unRaid does not see that has win XP on it.  Perhaps I should do that. All the unRaid drives are in hot plug enclosures so I could just pull them and tell the system to boot. IIRC how I set it up it should then boot from the HDD.

Aynone have any WOL success with Gigabyte MoBo's, any model?

Thanks for the reply.  I can get it to sleep fine, but it will not wke up properly.

Not sure if you tried various WOl software.

I did find some that did not work but finally found an iphone app and an hptouchpad app that work fine.

You may have to try an assortment ...

I know that it's been awhile since this post, but did you get anywhere with this? I'm having the same problem. Sleeps fine, doesn't wake up properly... Lights are all on, but no output via screen or telnet.

It's rather annoying...
