5 hours ago5 hr Hi, I have an elitedesk g5 800 mini, I also have a HDD which is constantly getting hot from use, so I need a solution, I tried the AI chatbots but heaven forbid it comes out with anything useable. I bought the Arctic fan controller and a usb to usb header cable, its all connected to a spare sata cable. but I cant get neither FanCTRL 2 nor OpenFanController to actually see it. Can anyone recommend me a fan controller that will work, or even better a way to get the arctic working and save me some money.Thanks so much in advance.
4 hours ago4 hr I use Owltree PWM Fan controllers - the manual knob you turn yourself - from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0DPZM7T3Q/)I used a usb-c to power the controller and connect the fans to the header. I just leave the fans running because AFAIK the micro pc's don't usually have a good fan header on the motherboard, other than the one powering the shroud fan (which you could also split if you wanted). If you're using SFF, you might have a few more options. You can also make sure the BIOS is updated.its all connected to a spare sata cableSATA power cable, I assume? That's just going to provide power. How are you connecting the controller to your motherboard? That's a PWM 4-pin input (I have an Artic controller as well) that needs a PWM signal.
