Flash drive is corrupted or offline

Featured Replies

I have been receiving this message in banner recently. Everything appears to be working but I have rebooted several times, removed flash drive and scanned for errors, placed flash drive in different port. The message is still popping up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your diagnostics show that /boot/config/share.cfg, which stores the global share settings, is empty:

/boot/config/share.cfg corrupted or missing

This explains why the warning returns after rebooting or changing USB ports. A filesystem repair does not necessarily restore a damaged file’s contents.

First, back up the flash drive to another computer. Keep any older backup separate.

Then stop the array and open Settings → Global Share Settings. Review the settings and save them with Apply (make a dummy change if neede)

Alternatively, restore only config/share.cfg from a known-good flash backup while the array is stopped.

Start the array and refresh the page. If the warning remains or returns, attach fresh diagnostics before rebooting again.

These logs do not establish that the flash drive needs replacement. Repeated configuration damage would warrant further investigation.

That seems to have worked. Thank you.
