[Problem] unraid wont see a newly precleared drive

Featured Replies

I recently precleared an external segate 3t dive via USB.  I wanted to make sure it passed before cracking the external enclosure (which it did).  I pulled the drive out and installed it internally.  Now I cant see that particular drive in the unraid/unmenu GUI.

Here is my syslog and the preclear reports

The drive Im trying to see has "GTPB" as the last four characters of the serial number.

Im using the free version and already have three drives (parity and 2 data drives) but was hoping to at least see a sign of this drive in the GUI before purchasing unRaid.

I did preclear_disk.sh -l and it returned

No un-assigned disks detected

Did my drive crap out on me in between cracking the encloseure open and voiding  the warranty, and installing it internally?

It is possible, but it is just as likely you have a bad power connection to the drive, or a bad SATA cable/connection.

I would stop the array, power down, re-seat the cables to the drive and then see if it is seen by the BIOS when you power back up.
