New Supermicro X7SPA-HF-D525 Mini-ITX build

Featured Replies

Well not exactly a completely new build.  I just replaced the Intel DG965SS Core2 Duo motherboard in my server with a Supermicro X7SPA-HF-D525 ATOM mini-ITX.  I used the old SO-DIMMs that came in my iMac and an Adaptec 1430sa to add 4 more SATA ports for a total of 10.

It couldn't have gone smoother.  The board is laid out nicely and was a breeze to get everything going.  It also has IPMI on the first NIC so you can do remote monitoring and management.

Just thought I'd put in a thumbs up for this board if anyone is looking for a mini-ITX solution.  It is a little pricey but I'm really happy with it so far.

Nice to see other using this board :)

I am not exactly using it yet, but it's bought and ready to be mounted in the build I am working on.

So far a thumbs up for it from me too

Same one I'm looking at for my next server. May see what the next-gen i3 brings, but looks like a great board in this case:

I considered that case too, but one thing I don't like about it is it's airflow, specially because I want to use a fanless PSU I am pretty sure it would be toasty inside
