May 27, 200818 yr Those are really old threads. ICH9 and probably ICH10 have been supported for awhile. There may however be a question whether the Intel BIOS itself fully supports all of AHCI in the ICH8 chipset. There's a better chance with ICH8R. (I'm going from memory here, may be faulty!) In any case, Intel boards have long been supported. I've long wanted to add chipset info to the motherboards listed on the Hardware Compatibility page. It would be more useful at times to know what northbridge, southbridge, disk controller, and network chipsets are compatible. If a board is checked and not found on the lists, but all of its chipsets are listed, then there's an extremely good chance the board is supported. Edit: By the way, the Hardware Compatibility page lists a number of Intel 965 boards.
May 28, 200818 yr Author Thanks. Motherboard is INTEL DQ965GF. Chipset Q965 Express with ICH8DO (chip 82801HO, graphic chip 82Q965, LAN chip 82566DM).
