May 28, 200818 yr Anyone know if this will work with an UnRaid setup? It's only $5 after rebate right now through Newegg. I only planned on using 1 SATA connector per PCI-E lane anyway so this would be really nice at $5 a pop. I'm pretty sure it should be fine (SiL 3132 chipset same as RC-211 which I heard does in fact work)... I just want to double check before I commit to buying 2 of these.
May 28, 200818 yr You can use 2 SATA's per PCIe Lane. You just have to get fancy in how you lay out the drives. 1x - Drive 1 - Drive 3 1x - Drive 2 - Drive 4 This causes reads to occur across lanes in a toggling fashion. It's simultaneous reads in the same lane which may cause a slight bottleneck. Still $5 after rebate ain't a bad deal. It's just these days, I've been finding more and more companies reneging on their rebate deals.
May 28, 200818 yr Author Heh, I went through 52 rebates last August to get $150 in my pocket and a free HP dv6426us Laptop . Rebates do not scare me one bit lol!!! Thanks for the info though... so much information is scattered across these forums that it is hard to get everything straight! I think I am going to drop 2 of these Rosewill's into my AB9 pro and then expand later on with something beefy in my x16 slot (when I need to expand past what the AB9 can handle).

My company just bought an md-1500 with 15 drives from Lime and this was one of the included peripherals in one of the Asus p5e-vm do motherboard pci-e slots so I can confirm it is supported by unRAID.
June 6, 200818 yr Author Sorry for no update... yes I already received both of my cards and yes they are working great (although I don't need them yet since my AB9 Pro has so many onboard options).
