Having a problem here, hoping someone can help me

Whenever I go to Manage and it comes up

"Seems like you don't have anything in your library yet.

Add your existing movie folders in Settings > Manage

When you've done that, hit this button ? Hit me, but not too hard"

and I click Settings > Manage, it takes me to http://tower:8089/settings/manage/ but it really just shows the general page as seen below

http://i.imgur.com/JRaNDoO.png

There is no Manage on the left hand side menu either which is there on the Windows version, dunno if it's the same on unraid but I would presume so.

Hope someone can help, cheers.

CP shows its version number in "cog" icon -> settings -> about.

It's the GitHub number to compare + the time and date.

thanks - this is what I see, b468048d95216474183daafaf46a4f2bd0d7ada7 (?12?/?1?/?2013? ?8?:?37?:?07? ?PM)Updatersource, masterID10063

Again, how can I tell if I have the current versions? Is there a single website I can go check to confirm I have all the latest and greatest?

Yep, from their GitHub: https://github.com/RuudBurger/CouchPotatoServer

On the right it says latest commit. And yes, you are on the latest.

Great, thank you.  I'm sure the version has been updated over the past 2 months, so mine must be updating ok.

What about the other two - can anyone confirm SB and SAB are current?

SB = a50ccde18208f5c708574af05ac27430c6f90274

SB plugin = 2.4.1

SAB = 0.7.16

SAB plugin = 2.5.3

my sab, couch, and sb versions are all exactly the same as yours, except my sb plugin is 2.4 rather than 2.4.1

I have seen them updating quote a few times, especially couch.  So all of it should be the latest version.

Great - thanks for confirming!

Hi! I installed Transmission yesterday and seems to work well.. By the way, I want two things:

1) I want to move the Data Folder to /boot/config/Transmission. I set the folder at the app's settings gui but I can't move the contents of the old dir (which I had set somewhere at /mnt/users/example-share) to the new one, giving me a read permissions error..

2) I want to set a password to be able to access Transmission, and if I edit the settings.json file, then it regenerates the initial file, at restart. As I've also seen, there was an MD5 hash in the password field. Should I convert my password to MD5 hash, or I could write my password somewhere and the program convert it? Also, should I keep the quotes " before and after the password? How can I edit the file and keep my changes permanent?

Thank you,

savaspar

Finally, I removed the old dir with the rm -rf command, and started from the beginning.. Also I found that the settings.json is actually copied from the Transmission plugin folder, so I changed that file and everything is good now, except from the permissions on the new directory's data folder.. Still I can't read anything.. I set at the Transmission web gui settings "Run as user: Root"..

I also export the flash/ to smb and gave the user which I'm trying to access from read/write privileges, and I also can access any other files.. except from the files at the transmission data folder... But the program seems to work flawlessly.. Very weird..

Hi Berg, just a possible workaround for your issue with the mover moving your apps, i use the old unraid trick of having my apps in a folder named with a period at the front, this prevents the mover from moving this folder (and sub folders), so for me my cache drive looks like this:-

/mnt/cache/.Apps/<my apps>

so you could always give this a try, i realise it will mean re-installing your apps to the new location and changing paths but i have zero issues with the mover script and also means you dont have to mess around with setting shares etc.

edit - looking at my settings "data directory" and "install directory" are separate for the config of sabnzbd+ (probably the same for CP and SB?) you will need to ensure they are both using the same common path, with data being in a subdir of the install path e.g.:-

install path = /mnt/cache/.Apps/SABnzbd

data path = /mnt/cache/.Apps/SABnzbd/Data

sounds to me like your issue is that you haven't set the data directory correctly, and thus your loosing config.ini etc

binhex.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your efforts.

Using the period in-front of my directories might be the solution that I settle with, but in the meantime, I've attached screenshots of my settings for both SickBeard and SABnzbd.

It is a Mover script issue. I turned off the Mover and I have not had any other issues. I have also discovered that it is both apps that suffer the problem. It only becomes apparent for SABnzbd after a restart.

I would love to hear what you think of my settings. In fact, I would love your advice :)

I would also try to minimize the spin up of my drives, including the cache drive if I could. I would probably be willing to add a small drive, maybe even a laptop drive to help with that and to be used only for my apps. What do you guys think? Any good guides that describe how to set that up?

Thanks again for all you help ... This is a great community!

Berg,  If you have apps set for cache only in the shares and you still have this problem.  check that you have deleted all reference to "apps" from the /mnt/user0/ folder.  If mover sees anything in there it will move it and the cycle continues.

I haven't rebooted my NAS for 35 days, but I decided to upgrade unRAID to 5.0.4 today, so I rebooted.

Now the CouchPotato plugin is suddenly refusing to load.

It's telling me: "fatal: repository "Couchpotato" does not exist, then it tries to start CouchPotato and that fails because it isn't actually installed anymore because it got cleaned in preparation for the update that never happened.

This then locks up all of my plugins and nothing else installs either. Obviously I can just remove CouchPotato from my startup for now, and I will, but I would like it working again.

I went to https://github.com/RuudBurger/CouchPotatoServer just to confirm that it's online, and it is, and MASTER branch appears to be intact.

I edited the PLG file to see if I could spot anything wrong, but it looks ok.

The only thing I did see is that the PLG looks for a folder called "Couchpotato", with an upper case "C", in the repo, but right now that folder has a lower case "c" in the repo.

I edited the PLG file and changed all references to a lower case "c" instead, and tried again, but I still get the fatal error.

Anybody have ANY idea why this has suddenly gone south ? It has been working perfectly for months and now all of sudden this ?

Never mind, solved it.

Turned out that the couchpotato_v2.cfg file had become corrupted somehow.

Instead of the following 2 lines:

INSTALLURL="https://github.com/RuudBurger/CouchPotatoServer"

BRANCH="master"

I suddenly had:

INSTALLURL="master"

BRANCH=""

I've seen something similar happen to the config for these plugins before. It seems to write the value for each setting into the setting above the setting it should be written into sometimes. I have NO idea why that happens, or how, but it does.

Hey, how do you choose the permissions of the created files for the torrents you download? All my downloaded files are root:root and rwxr--r--. :( I have to go every time and change the permissions manually.. I download to a share and not to a cache disk.

Hey, how do you choose the permissions of the created files for the torrents you download? All my downloaded files are root:root and rwxr--r--. :( I have to go every time and change the permissions manually.. I download to a share and not to a cache disk.

Is this something to do with the "Run as user" setting?? If I choose to use the user which can access the share, and not "root", then, the program uses right permissions for the downloaded torrent files, but it can't write or modify files at the Data Directory  (/boot/config/Transmission/) which I set to.. I think you've overseen this major issue..

Generally speaking, I had installed Transmission on a WD MyBookLive for years, without any issue at all... The release of Transmission for unRAID, is a headache... :(

SABnzbd is already updated from 0.7.16 to 0.7.17Beta2. However the message "Update available to version: 0.7.17Beta2" still shows up.

Also, Transmission 2.76 (13786) is on an old version. The current release version is 2.82.

And transmission by defaults downloads to //Downloads. That is not a very good idea!

Just updated to 5.0.4 today from 4.7. Really appreciate the simplicity of the plugins, and after a bit of confusion with SAB, got everything installed, but not quite working. My confusion with SAB may have been the problem.

I initially installed SAB to /mnt/cache/custom instead of /mnt/cache/custom/sabnzbd (with appropriate ../data directory). Once I realized what I'd done, I stopped SAB from the plugin page, saved off my sabnzbd.ini file, then cleaned up ../custom. I reinstalled the plugin from puTTY, then configured it with the proper directories & installed, copied the .ini into ../sabnzbd/data and started SAB.

SAB starts fine & all the config info is there, but when I download an nzb, I get the following error:

Failed making (/mnt/cache/custom/sabnzbd/data/Downloads/incomplete/Doctor_Who_2005.2013_Christmas_Special.The_Time_of_The_Doctor.720p_HDTV_x264-FoV)

For simplicity, I've attached a screen shot of my SAB settings page showing the folder settings, and a screenshot of the directory permissions.

What the heck am I missing?

NAS.folder.rights.PNG.337089dad319adbf37ca58aba8e9b2ba.PNG

Not sure if it's relevant, check your post processing script folder location if you're using sickbeard for tv show downloads

Thanks, Ashe. I am using Sick, but I'm getting the same issue with CP downloads as well.

You did get me looking at directory permissions again, and I noticed that ../sabnzbd/data/Downloads/incomplete was changed to 'drw-r--r--' from the 'drw-rw-rw-' as shown in the screen shot. I chmod it back to 666, downloaded a .nzb, SAB picked it up and created a directory in incomplete with 644 permissions, but didn't even start to download anything.

I looked again and the ../Downloads/incomplete directory is now back to 644 permissions instead of 666.

Anyone have any other ideas?

EDIT: quick update. I did chmod 666 incomplete again and put the .nzb back in data/nzb. SAB picked it up and immediately threw the same 'could not create the directory' error, but the directory permissions are still properly set to 666.

Now you have updated to v5, run the unRAID Permissions utility, click on the UTILS tab, then click on NEW PERMISSIONS icon under the UPGRADE UTILITIES section.  Check on the "Yes I want to do this", and finally click on the START button.

Just to double check it's not a permissions issue (as it sounds like one)

EDIT: this takes around 20mins plus for my 15TB, it opens in a separate window, leave this open while the utility runs

I did run that as part of my upgrade process, but I went ahead and kicked it off again.  These are in a new directory structure, so something may have gotten messed up.  I'll post back when it completes.

On an earlier 5 RC release (can't remember if RC8 Or RC11) my permissions were often reset but this was a problem with the plex plugin rather than sab, SB or cp

OK... Now, the permissions on the ../Downloads/* directories seem to be staying in place, and SAB isn't giving me a permissions error anymore, but it's still not working right.

When I move an .nzb into the ../data/nzb directory, the main 'downloads' form never changes or indicates any refresh activity, however, if I go to the status page, I have no errors on the errors tab, but the Queue Repair tab shows the name of the .nzb I just added as an orphaned job. Clicking 'Add' gives me this error:

Obviously, something is still not right with permissions when it's trying to create folders. I believe that this permission denied is very evident in the attached screen shot.

What do I need to tweak to get unRAID to create new directories with the appropriate 666 permissions for nobody:users? (i.e., I don't think this a SAB plugin specific question anymore, I think it's generic to my entire unRAID, but since I'm here, I hope someone will point me in the right direction.)

Just so I don't look like a complete idiot asking about permissions, then giving advice on setting them... I do have my permissions set to change them to 644 on completed downloads, which is the advice I gave to savaspar. My issue seems to be with directories not getting permissions set properly.

thats the commit hash, not the release version. Its that way if you are on the alpha master branch. Heres the "changelog" for that version

But if you want something thats actually understandable for n00bs like me

Influencer, is there anyway to get an older version of your transmission package? I'm specifically looking for an old 2.03 plg for transmission.

FreeMan, it might be worth removing the .ini file that you  setup when you initially created the sab folder in the custom directory.
