Not Waking Up From Sleep

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm in the process of setting up my first unraid server, I'm running v5 RC4 with simplefeatures installed, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the sleep function.

I've followed all the guides - s3 sleep is enabled in the bios and so is WOL.

When I trigger sleep from the main tab on the web interface the server goes to sleep as it should, however when I wake it up again nothing comes on the screen and I can't connect to it. The only thing that does happen is that the scroll-lock and number-lock lights flash about twice a second. The only way to get out of it is to hold the power button to shut it down and then restart it again.

I've tried sending it to sleep without the array running, only to get the same result. I might be wrong but I seem to remember using sleep when I had Windows installed on the machine and not having a problem.

The board is a gigabyte GA-D525TUD.

Thanks

Can you see if there's a BIOS update that fixes WOL?  I know I've had issues where BIOS updates have fixed, or broken WOL.

I had an ASUS mother board that once the BIOS was updated from the original BIOS, every new version broke WOL.  Fans would spin up, but nothing else would happen.

Sorry forgot to mention that I've already checked that - its all up-to-date.

Thanks anyway

It doesn't help, but I have exactly the same problem.

From what I gather the lack of video on the screen is common, even in a windows install - but the fact the server is offline is more of a problem.

I'd like to be at least able to see the syslog to try to identify what has happened, but with no console thats impossible.

actually i managed to grab a syslog after a wake, which shows a lot of errors (attached)

Am guessing these aren't helping!

Edit:  and now after a reboot I have a drive red balled...
