Cache drive spin down?

Featured Replies

Forgive my ignorance I am new to 5.0 and I noticed that the green ball isn't blinking next to my cache drive.  Is this typical?

Thanks,

Neil

If you are running addons, as a lot of people are, it is not rare at all.

Another cause of this is CouchPotato or SickBeard running on a remote system checking the cache drive for newly downloaded SABnzbd files.

If you aren't running any addons, and don't have automated systems checking the cache drive..then it should sleep.

What type of plugins? I have simple features and unmenu. Also some ssmtp and cache dirs but that's about it. No programs running like media servers or the such. Thanks

Researching I ran the following command:

inotifywait -mr /mnt/cache

and i watched it.  I even manually spun down the drive and I refresh the web interface and that drive is then spinning but there is no output on the screen.  Any ideas?  Am I useing intofiywait correctly?

Thanks,

Neil

Still spinning :(

I had to click on the disk from the main menu and change spin down to 30 minutes.  With "use default" the cache disk never would spin down.  No, I don't have any plugins that would be accessing the disk (cache only).
