It is usually only found on more expensive or higher-end Server motherboards. There is also a similar desktop system that is similar called vPro. July 16, 201213 yr IPMI was created by Intel. I doubt you're going to have an easy time finding boards for an AMD CPU that has it. Looking at Supermicro's website there are a few current gen Opteron boards that support it but not many.
