July 13, 201213 yr hi there i am using version 5 beta 14 i have been using unraid for about a year and the last few months whenever i transfer anything to the server i have to run the new permissions utility these are the permissions on my old files Everyone Users (unix group users) nobody (tower\nobody) but when i transfer anything it puts these permissions on Everyone users (unix group\root) console+web gui logon account (tower\root) i then have to run the new permissions util every time any ideas what i am doing wrong thank you Regards
July 13, 201213 yr Unmount the drive from your client systems and be sure that when you mount it again, you don't use the "root" account. If you don't have another user, create one and use that...then be sure that user has permissions to all your shares.
July 13, 201213 yr Author im getting confused sorry ok i have removed all my mapped drives that i have to all my shares on my local machine i used this command net use * /delete i then re mapped a drive to 1 share did not have to put username or anything created a new folder and i am still having the same issues not sure what to do regards
July 13, 201213 yr Author update ... i have logged onto my tower from another pc and created a folder the permissions are fine so its a setting on my main pc what else can i try please ?

Remount the drive with new credentials and it should be ok..
July 13, 201213 yr Author when you say remount the drive do you mean map a new drive to a share and then tick the box saying connect using different credentials ? #
July 13, 201213 yr Yes. Or you can delete the existing credentials in Control Panels->Credential Manager.
