July 14, 201213 yr I started out with the a760g m2+ and a sempron 140. This setup works great and met my needs for a couple of years. Then I started buying tablets and found Plex. Now I need a processor with more muscle to handle transcoding duties. I settled on a phenom ii x4 910e. It is the fastest quad core running at 65w. According to biostar, it is supported. So I updated the bios and plugged it in. No dice. I get no post message or anything, just a blank screen. I've switched back to the sempron for now. Anybody have any ideas on what I need to do to make it work? I'm sure it has something to do with the bios but I haven't been able to figure it out. I emailed biostar but I thought I'd check with you guys too...

I can recall when I was building my system that certain Biostar boards had problems with Processor upgrades-- That is to replace a processor after you already had the board running with another processor. Here is a link to the place to start tolook for information: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=394&tab=3 Look under the 'CPU Support' tab for the Red Note near the top of the page.
