March 17, 201511 yr I think you can fix your Apple clients to not generate these. Yes this is also an option. How to prevent .DS_Store file creation over network connections Not sure that this solves the .AppleDB directory issue... I need to do this myself.
March 18, 201511 yr Author I don't expect this to be fixed because AFP seems to be deprecated. Systems running Mavericks or newer should have better performance using SMB. Although, AFP is still required for Time Machine.
