samba security configuration issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've setup the trial version of unraid and I'm trying out the different security settings.

Firts I've noticed that when user shares and disk shares are both active simultaniously, the "hidden" folders that are not ment to be seen by certain users (as defined in user shares) are accessible through the disk shares by every user though, is this normal ? I disabled the disk share and this solved the problem for now.

I've created one user share with the following configuration:

SMB security:

Export : Yes (Hidden)

Security: Secure

With read access for one pre-defined user.

I would like an answer to this question as well. Looks like no matter how I enable user security, every other user on the network is able to see my shares without being prompted to login.

On the other hand I just found out this little note:

Note: User level security is only available on UnRAID Pro and Plus in the configuration tutorial and I was just wondering if this is actually the issue. If yes, then it means there is no way I can actually test Users and Share Security properly, yes?

thanks for help
