Im thinking about making a server with lian li cube case. it as room for 6 5x3 cages so i need a motherboard with 4 Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8. i have never built a computer so i need some advice on the board. any tips?

    The supermicro X9SCM's will support 4x MV8's

     

    The catch is... the latest beta only supports 24data drives. all previous versions only support 20.. You system will be larger then what unraid suppots..

     

    You could virtualize 2x 15 drive servers in that system though. (or any combination that equals 30 drives.)

     

    PS I do think those Lian Li cubes are awesome...

    thanks for the tip! however seems that the only support mb in the cube atx :( is it possible to use a hp sas expander with 1 mv8 to get the total disks? seems there are a internal cage so you can have more disks the 30 :-)

    the X9scm is m-ATX it should fit fine.. it is smaller then ATX
