Video card for use with Plex client?

I have this idea, where on my build of unRAID on an ESXi, a virtual machine to run for plex client.

That is, I'll use only that machine with Plex as my media player.  Therefore, I believe this needs a good video card, which should be able to pass-thru to the vm.

First, what is the minimum specs of a video card, that should be working perfectly for any media player to play all the available movies types (nowadays)?

Second, are there any cards that supports pass-thru?

P/S.  In order to really feel that this will be a dedicated media player, I'll difinetly need a remote control that will work with it. again, any that can be pass-thrued to the vm?
