July 20, 201213 yr I have used up the 6 sata ports on my motherboard. Time to expand. Can someone recommend a card for me? Things I want: 8 ports Fast Current Setup: Amd CPU Asus M4A78L-M LE 6 x 2tb WD green drives (ears) the motherboard has 1 x PCIe x16 1 x PCIe x1 2 x PCI Not really concerned about price. Would just like a solid controller that is fast.

Why not just get a SuperMicro 8 port card? They are much more available on multiple sites.
July 29, 201213 yr They are pretty common to find as a "working pull" and are rebranded cards, so generally cheaper. Just today I found a few on eBay for ~$50
July 30, 201213 yr Oh, ok. So money is the answer. I guess if you can find a card that performs just as well as the Super Micro for much less then that would be it.
