What media player do you use?

I currently have popcornhour c-200, which I've been using for 2 years now, and before that, i had another popcornhour product...

I'm happy with it, but suffering with manual jukebox creation (YAMJ).

I bought a Boxee, but didn't use it much.....

I also tried XBMC, i like it....

also Plex, I like a lot...

My plan is to build a small system (probably a MacMini) dedicated to plex only, with a remote control....

I like xbmc and it runs great on a zbox.

But my favorite easy to use comes with a remote and plays most files is the WD Live.

Please add OpenELEC to vote list :)

I currently run a C200 and an A200 - I want to use UMC with the popcorns but development seems sporadic, at best.

I have run a trial of OpenELEC, using my normal desktop machine, and am quite impressed - therefore I have an Asus E45M1-I Deluxe (E450 Zacate) arriving next week, together with a Pulse8 usb-cec interface box.

XBMC for living room, what I plan to use everywhere eventually.

Office & bedroom currently use WDTV Live Plus though I believe they have been replaced by a newer model.

I use plex for the riku2 in the bedroom, and WMC7 with media browser in the living room and game room.

Three A200 series Popcorn Hours

SageTV

Unable to make multiple selections.

I have a C-200 running Eversion in the living room and a zotac running win7 with XBMC in the bedroom and XBMC on my main computer in  my computer room.

MediaBrowser

Roku (x4) and Openelec

Roku (x4) and Openelec

Plain Roku or Plex on Roku ?

i have 3 computers with xbmc and Plex ... depending who uses the computer will they choose the player .... Kids prefer Plex ... I prefer Xbmc

1 ATV 2 with Plex and Xbmc  again same depending who uses the thing...

want to buy one more atv but waiting for the 3 becomes jailbraikable .....

Roku's are hard to get here but i might choose one if i am sure they work well... is there even an Xbmc for roku ?

Openelec XBMC HTPC in the living room, same in the bedroom, with a shared database.  Also running latest Plex for iDevices around the house and when away from home, and the wonderful Plex Export plugin.  Plex Media Server and the XBMC database (MySQL) share a Ubuntu 11.10 VM.

XBMC on my main TV and Plex on my iPhone, iPad and 2 jailbroken AppleTVs.

Air Video on my iPhone to send video to my girlfriends AppleTV via AirPlay with on the fly transcoding done by Air Video Server on my server for when I'm at my girlfriends apartment. I realize I could use Plex with AirPlay for that function as well but in this situation I want just simple directory listings sorted oldest to newest which Air Video makes easy.

Plain Roku or Plex on Roku ?

I use RoksBox which costs $15 for a one time license, and needs the media to be presented by a webserver.  I'm using Lighttpd as provided by unMenu package manager to do that.

All in all it works quite well

Plex on a Mac Minis in 2 rooms. Roku2 XS in 1 Room running the plex app.  Plex for android for on the road.

Various Squeezeboxes in all rooms for sync'd music.

I bought a Boxee, but didn't use it much.....

Hey, I'm up to buy it in case you want to sell it.

Looking forward to own one, but the prices here in Europe are silly. :o

Okay, my E450 board arrived yesterday lunchtime - a couple of hours later I had it up and running OpenELEC, connected to my main Sony Bravia.  All is well, but I'm controlling it with keyboard and mouse at the moment - awaiting delivery of my Pulse8 cec-usb interface.

I'm really happy with OpenELEC - a great improvement over the PCH ... I wonder how long it will be before I build another OpenELEC system for downstairs.

I've voted OpenELEC - it won't allow me to register votes for two different players.

It's interesting to note that almost 50% of responses are for xbmc/OpenELEC.

At this point, I've got three XBMC boxes with the OpenElec distribution of XBMC.  (Den, Bedroom, and Theater)

You are not alone, it did not take too much time before I built a second, and a third.

Only system that needed a bit of tweaking was the one in my home-theater.  I needed to add a custom modeline to drive the Barco CRT Projector with negative sync.

Other than that, it is really nice to have all the media, and thumbnails, and trailers, and cast...

What is this E450 board? I like to hear more about it and give OPENELEC a try. Or maybe try one of those Xtreamer Ultra2 boxes.

Well im considering selling my dune base 3.0 and get an xbmc machine too, maybe openelec , not sure, what are the benefits?

Do you play games on it as well?

Whats the pulse 8 thing?

@Joe L, when you have 3 machines, where is al your xbmc data then? on all 3 machines? or centralised? on unraid?

I use a xbmc box running openelec in the bedroom, a wdlive in my sons room, and A win7 htpc running mediabrowser in the living room.

Lionel, have you recently had issues with mediabrowser not updating properly? No new shows or movies show up on EHS unless I completely exit out of media center and then go back in, manual refresh doesn't work.

The wd live works, I haven't played with it enough to know if I like it or not, its in there because I got it for free.

I'm using the Asus E45M1-I Deluxe board.

My only concern is that it runs a little hot - I need to investigate whether powernow-k8 works with the E450 processor, and whether it is included in the OpenELEC Fusion build.

The pulse8 cec-usb adapter enables the media centre to respond to cec commands on the hdmi connection, allowing the TV remote to control the htpc.

All of my media is stored on unRAID, together with the sql database with all the film information.

I haven't investigated games - I have a Wii and Xbox 360/Kinect for games.
