Perl keeps updating on (re)boot

Featured Replies

For reasons not clear to me, when i installed the Logitech Media Server 7.7.2 package (slimserver) the Perl runtime was not installed, while it should have been included in the packet itself as i'm told. Tried several times but didnt work. So i've installed Perl from unMenu's package tab, rebooted, and now i could finally start Slimserver.

But now, everytime i reboot, Perl keeps nagging me about some CPAN update, there is a version v1.9800 available which is going to be downloaded, this takes a long time to download and install, and all sorts of messages are flying over the screen, it looks like it's installing all sorts of stuff i don't need. And the bad thing is, once i reboot again, it all starts over again... it just never updates. See screenshot.

What can i do?

I think i have the same sometimes. Looks like the ethernet part is not running when perl is started, it trys than to connect to the perl website, but fails. Lots of messages on the screen and in the logging.
