July 24, 201213 yr A couple of questions about what happens and what should happen (vs. what I'm seeing) when you replace a drive and have it rebuilt. So I am replacing a green drive that has been on for some 37,000 hours 1TB with a new 2TB drive (both to prevent a failure and add space to my unraid). I shutdown properly, swapped the drives, brought unraid back up, assigned new disk and set to rebuilding - all we well. Things I'm seeing now. 1. The first 15min or so rebuild went along at only 30MB/s - then sped up to 90MB/s - why? 2. Now, although the array says its online, none of my shares are accessible - only the cache drive is accessible. Is this normal? Edit: forgot to add I'm using R5b14
