Slackware 32-bit or 64-bit?

Featured Replies

I want to install unRAID on top of a full Slackware development install.    I have 64-bit hardware, but it is not clear to me whether I should go for the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Slackware to host unRAID server, or does it not matter?

I did look, but could not find this question asked elsewhere which surprised me as it seemed an obvious question  :)

unRAID is 32-bit Slackware. I'm not positive, but I believe someone had got it running on a full 64-bit install.

Thanks for that I thought it might be the case.  Ideally I would like the host to be 64-bit so I might wait and see if anyone else chimes in.

I guess another option might be to run a 32-bit unRAID server under VMWare on a 64-bit system?
