Never built a computer before, so beware of an amateur.

MOBO Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P Socket AM3+ 760G mATX AMD - 44.99 (AR)

CPU   AMD A6 X3 3500 2.1GHz Triple Core Socket FM1 -49.99

PSU   Corsair Builder Series CMPSU-430CXV2 430 Watt ATX - 28.24 (AR)

Case Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower - 44.99 (AR)

RAM   Crucial 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 - 21.99

Total = $190.20 (After Rebates)

Planning on using it as storage for HTPC streaming and for torrents.  Probably will start out for awhile with only 6 HDs.

1.  Are these components all compatible?

2.  Which components am I missing? (Not sure what a PCI card is or if I need it, Network card, etc.)

3.  How is this build for a basic NAS server? 4.  Any suggestion on hardware/other options?

4.  Any other suggestions on hardware/other options?

Would very much appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Unless there is a specific reason for wanting that CPU I would change the CPU instead of the mb, unraid will be largely headless so regular onboard or the cheapest gpu you can find would be more than sufficient for the graphics needs. Not to mention last time I looked at prices fm1 mbs and A series processors were more expensive than the AM line

Do you plan on running xbmc or streamers that require server side transcoding, usually by running plex. A tricore is a bit overkill for a unraid server and torrents, if not transcoding a dual core would work just fine. I haven't transcoded a lot but I think if only streaming to one htpc, a dual core would be able to handle the load. Someone that transcodes more will have to chime in there though.

Well the next cheapest APU processor is the AMD A4-3400 Llano 2.7GHz Socket FM1 65W for $40, so I thought might as well get the A6 for $10 more - wouldn't it be worth it?

I plan on using XBMC with an HTPC - I don't think transcoding is required.  Actually, I don't even know what that is, so I'm not sure.  Same thing with Plex. Is there any advantage to using Plex than there is with XBMC?

just looking at an Asus motherboard with the same chipset (AMD A55 Hudson D2) for an unRAID build.  Just kind of wondered how the install went.  I'd found a lot of references for similar chipsets that looked promising but wanted to cover my bases.
