If I want to add a drive to my array, will parity have to be regenerated?

    Your drive will be cleared by unraid, or better, pre-cleared through the pre-clear script by yourself. That means it will be empty, and so won't affect the parity-calculations. That means that no, it wouldn't cause the parity to be regenerated.

     

    Edit: That answer is also in the FAQ that you read about parity, so you should know this already.
