share not found any more (SOLVED: STUPID USER)

Featured Replies

I just added a new drive into my unraid system, I want some of my shares to be primarily located on that drive instead of on another one.

I therefor copied all the data from the relevant share from OLDDRIVE to NEWDRIVE and changed the drive allocation to only recognise the new drive.

Now however the two shares this pertains are no longer accessible from windows, they show as "no space" and I cannot browse in them.

syslog shows the following:

Aug  3 09:05:14 Tower emhttp: get_filesystem_status: statfs: /mnt/user/Backup No such file or directory

Aug  3 09:05:14 Tower emhttp: get_filesystem_status: statfs: /mnt/user/Music No such file or directory

Aug  3 09:05:19 Tower emhttp: get_filesystem_status: statfs: /mnt/user/Backup No such file or directory

Aug  3 09:05:19 Tower emhttp: get_filesystem_status: statfs: /mnt/user/Music No such file or directory

These shares however are absolutely there.. I actually expect that the system is "confused" based on the change in drive allocation, a reboot will probably solve this, I would however call it a bug.

I will reboot as soon as some copies I am doing have completed and report back.

ADD: I got a brainwave and figured a "reset" of the SMB part only could probably also help... I clicked "APPLY""  (without making any changes). Now my MUSIC and BACKUP share are totally gone in windows and they -also- do not show any more in the unraid webinterface (running simplefeatures btw, know its a plugin but I cannot easily remove it at this time).

Since the info is now also no longer present in the webinterface I am somewhat worried that the config will not come back after a reboot, data is still there (I assume), so still nothing dramatic but still..

ADD: Backup.cfg and Music.cfg are still there in /config ... So they still probably will come back after a re boot.. Looks very much like the webinterface has gotten confused though..

Now noticed that my users share is doing the same thing (this was the third share I am moving between drives).

What happens is the following:

- Share had only one allowed drive: disk5

- I added disk8 as allowed drive

- I start copying data from disk5 to disk8 (using MC thru telnet)

- I remove drive5 as allowed drive

- Share now shows "0 free" (incorrect, disk8 has enough free space)

At some point (this happened with Music and Backup but has not happened with users yet) the share will become inaccessible.

SOLVED !

Totally my own fault...

I had previously excluded disk8 in the overall user share settings...

I removed the excluded, pressed apply in smb settings and the share reappeared !

So nothing wrong !
