June 16, 200818 yr Pretty much as topic. All the big boys have cool logos we need one to. Any designers care to take a shot?
June 16, 200818 yr Methinks it should be the outline of hard drives stacked on top of each other, and the top one being a different color representing the parity disk. Kinda like this amazing logo I made in microsoft paint.
June 17, 200818 yr Author I like the premise but one thing we need to do is make the logo very roughly the same width and height. If you look at the big boys you will notice a pattern.
June 17, 200818 yr I had a thought last night as I drifted off to sleep.. What about a bunch of hard drives (similar to below), one colored differently, (similar to below), but attached to a SAFE (you know like the small lil grey ones with a combination lock and handle) connected to a LCD keyboard and monitor.
June 17, 200818 yr Author Nice idea. A modification of something like this would be nice in this scenario also NASLite has no clear logo branding but this graphics stuck out
June 17, 200818 yr NASUser you must be in my mind. This is what came in my mind (your first pic) when I saw Equilibrium's graphic. Like the disk blocks forming the letters, or something.
June 17, 200818 yr I would like to suggest a different direction. All of the thoughts so far lean toward technical issues (drives, parity, ...) whereas the targeted audience tends to be for people looking for a liveable and easy-to-use solution, not technical solution. Most of us would agree that Unraid is NOT the most technically advanced solution out there (specifically regarding transfer rates). How about working into the graphic the concept of home theater, music, photos, etc.? Heck, how about a person? Or ... how about a combination of technology and real-world application? Bill
June 17, 200818 yr How about working into the graphic the concept of home theater, music, photos, etc.? Heck, how about a person? That's why I thought a safe with disks hanging off it would fit. Heck, the disks could spell out unRAID.
June 18, 200818 yr way too "80ies" I think the logo should be that: a logo - and something easy for someone to draw (maybe not exactly but close) on a piece of paper. Smth catchy. Maybe something like bibendum. (tyres... disks)
