August 13, 201213 yr After my server has been running for a few months I like to rearrange things (user-shares, folders and more). How would you "redistribute" files on a running server obeying the new rules set by allocation method, split level and included/excluded disks?
August 13, 201213 yr get confirmation before proceeding, but I believe you could move data manually to the cache drive and let the mover script do the heavy lifting. i.e. mv /mnt/disk1/movies/* /mnt/cache/movies/ you just need to ensure you have a large cache disk.
