Quick question on preclear

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am replacing a smaller drive with a WD Green 2TB drive and want to run a preclear first.  I put the drive in an empty slot in the machine at the moment.  It's been so long that I can't remember if I need to assign the drive to a slot in the Devices tab when doing a preclear or do I leave it unassigned?  I seem to remember leaving it unassigned but not 100% sure anymore.  I search a few threads but didn't find anything specific to this question.

Ok determined that I didn't need to assign it.  But I do have another question.

I decided to install unmenu and screen so I didn't have to leave my session running.  I also downloaded andinstalled the package for the mail and ssmtp, gcc-4.2.4-i486-1.tgz.  I now realize I don't need it.  How does one actually unistall a package?

If you installed them via unmenu, go back to unmenu PKG Manager, select the package you installed & click the Disable Reinstall on Reboot button for each package.

Correct, and THEN stop the array and reboot.  (until you reboot, they are still installed)
