sata cables.... replace bad drive, Parity drive no longer parity drive.

Featured Replies

I installed a new drive to replace a faulty drive ... however when I was in the computer I unplugged a bunch of drives and then plugged them back in.... not necessarily to the same sata cables.

Now when I power server back up the Parity drive is not the original Parity drive.... ???  ???

Its the new disk I just installed and it has a blue dot?

There is another disk with a blue dot as well ??

Hmmm what am I doing ?!  :o

Originally I had a bad disk to replace.  I took the bad disk out and put the new disk in.  The other disk with a blue dot should not have a blue dot. I notice it is the same "disk 2" that had the original issue, Maybe the disk was fine and that sata port was bad??

many things to ponder.
