the topic has been covered but i had a question about it. would you be unable to use a paid license of unraid in a vm since it is tied to the GUID of the flash device?

    I passthrough the USB key so that the VM can see the key and enable PRO mode.  Then you can either boot from a CD plop image which then boots from the USB key or you can setup a VMDK and copy the USB key files to the VMDK to boot.  It still sees the USB key and authorizes PRO mode either way.  ESXi 5.0.
